Veriff and Bolt have agreed to cooperate globally with launching their partnership first in Estonia, France, Latvia, Netherlands, Portugal and Ukraine, according to Veriff.

In very rare cases, when unusual activity is detected, Bolt may require passengers to verify themselves. The verification is triggered by Bolt's anti-fraud engine which uses both rule-based scoring and machine learning to detect potentially suspicious activity, Bolt said.

Veriff is an Estonian IT company established in 2015 that offers digital solutions for financial services. It is a global online web-based identification company that protects companies and their customers from online identity fraud. Veriff serves a global portfolio of internet businesses, including fintech companies, sharing economy providers, and marketplaces in the United States, Europe, and other places in the world. The company employs over 230 people in Estonia and the United States.   

Bolt has more than 50 million registered users in 40 countries around the world. Its services range from ride-hailing to micromobility with e-scooters and electric bikes to food and package delivery.
