Estonia to invest EUR 10 mln in Eesti Raudtee infrastructure in 2021

The Estonian state is set to invest approximately 10 million euros in projects to be continued on the infrastructure of the state-owned railway infrastructure company AS Eesti Raudtee next year, it appears from the bill of the 2021 state budget submitted to the parliament on September 3th, cites LETA/BNS.

The projects include the second stage of a comprehensive overhaul of the Tallinn-Keila-Paldiski and Keila-Riisipere railway sections costing two million euros; reconstruction of the traffic control system of the Tallinn-Keila-Paldiski railway section costing 4.8 million euros; renovation of the Tallinn-Tartu railway and increasing of speeds costing 1.6 million euros; and increasing of speeds on the Tapa-Narva railway costing 2.1 million euros. 


Also, the large-scale designing of the Rail Baltic railway in the territory of Estonia that started in 2019, and the acquisition of land for the construction of Rail Baltic will continue in 2021. 


The state is about to invest altogether 222.4 million euros in the field of transport in 2021, 35.9 million euros more than this year.
