Maxima Latvija created a new app with which customers will be able to pay for purchases
She indicated that the app will be available from this week.
Dupate-Ugule explained that the mobile app will make shopping easier and faster. It is also possible to attach the supermarket's loyalty card Paldies to the mobile application, which will provide users an opportunity to find out about all the offers of the loyalty program in one place right on a smartphone. It will also be possible to create a virtual loyalty card in the app.
Dupate-Ugule revealed to LETA that the costs of developing the mobile application are included in Maxima Latvija's investments for digitalization this year, which is approximately 1.5 million euros.
"The mobile app will not only help customers choose all the goods they need and view the current offers, but will allow them pay by avoiding cash and the payment terminal, and performing all these activities on their phones, which is not only convenient, but also very relevant due to the Covid-19 pandemic," said Valdis Zeps, CFO of Maxima Latvija.
In order to make payments by phone, it will be possible to add payment cards issued in Latvia to the application. The maximum payment amount is set at 150 euros. When making a purchase in one of the Maxima stores with the help of the application, it will be necessary to scan the QR code by phone at the self-service or traditional checkout and choose the payment method.
The Maxima mobile app is available for download on Google Play, the App Store, and Huawei AppGallery by entering the keyword "Maxima" in the search.
