Bolt expands to Armenia, Malta

Beginning on Tuesday, rides via the Bolt online transport platform can be ordered in Armenia and the food delivery service of Bolt Food in Malta, evgeni Belussov, executive responsible for enlargement at Bolt, said.

"Our goal is to make people's lives more convenient by making their day-to-day chores simple and easily accessible. Be it urban transport or ordering food to one's home or office. We understand that these are very local services, which is why we want to take local conditions into account when entering a new market," Jevgeni Belussov told. 


In Jerevan, a city of over one mln residents, Bolt wishes to make the local market more diverse and offer to users a European-style transport service on the best terms. For instance, Bolt charges no journey commencement fee in Jerevan and the price per kilometer is 300 Armenian drams or 57 eurocents, which is also the minimum fee per journey.


Malta is the fifth country where Bolt started offering the food delivery service. The service launched in Tallinn last summer and in Tartu, Vilnius and Riga some time later. At the moment users in Malta can order food from over 80 restaurants. 


Bolt started offering the ridesharing service in Malta in 2017 and tested offering of the electric scooter rental service there last summer. 


Preparations for the launch of Bolt Food are underway in South Africa and in several cities of Europe and Africa.
