Usakovs and Beijing vice mayor discuss possibilities for expanding economic and cultural cooperation
Print version
Usakovs pointed out that Riga's participation in Beijing's forum on the sustainable development of cities is an excellent opportunity to introduce the Latvian capital and its opportunities to Chinese representatives, writes LETA.
He urged to develop economic cooperation between Riga and Beijing.
"I invite all Beijing investors to turn their attention to Riga, the center of Baltic finances. The Freeport of Riga is the second largest port in the Baltic Sea, providing wide opportunities for developing trade and investments," said Usakovs.
Usakovs also invited Beijing choirs to participate in the World Choir Games, which will be held in Riga in 2014, when the city will become the European Capital of Culture.
As reported, Usakovs' visit to China will continue until July 2.
