The rate of positive tests was 2%, which is significantly lower than at the end of last week. 

As recently as on Monday, the rate of positive tests was 4.3%. The CDC explained earlier that in the European Union this indicator is considered important because when this figure rises above 3%, the spread of the disease is considered to be rapid and uncontrolled.

To date, a total of 373,523 Covid-19 tests have been carried out in Latvia, 2,942 people have tested positive for the virus and 1,325 Covid-19 patients have recovered. 

The CDC has promised to provide more detailed information later today.

As reported, the number of Covid-19 patients currently treated in hospitals has grown to 75, which is the highest number of recorded so far, according to CDC data.

Another nine Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals and four others were discharged in the past 24 hours.

Of the patients currently receiving treatment in hospitals 67 have symptoms of medium severity and eight are severe cases.

To date, 256 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from Latvia's hospitals, but that number of includes both recovered and deceased patients.
