Pork price jumps 61.3% on year in Latvia

Over the past year, the price of pork in Latvia has risen by 61.3%, reaching EUR 210.2 per 100 kilograms at the end of December 2019, according to the latest data released by the Market and Direct Support Department of the Agriculture Ministry writes LETA.
Compared to November 2019, the pork price climbed 12.8% in December.
In Lithuania, the pork price rose 9.6% m-o-m to EUR 197.7 per 100 kilograms in December, while the annual increase was 58.5%.
In Estonia, the pork price climbed 2.9% m-o-m to EUR 176.3 per 100 kilograms, while the annual rise was 20.8%.
In the European Union (EU), the pork price averaged at EUR 195.2 per 100 kilograms in December 2019, which is an increase of 4.7% from November. Over the past year, the pork price in the EU climbed by an average of 43.9%.
