Lithuania ranks at bottom of OECD open data index
10.06.2020Lithuania ranks the lowest (32nd) among members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in terms of data openness, the Special Investigation Service (STT) said on June 10th. Latvia and Estonia perform below average, too, but they are placed higher than Lithuania – at number 21 and number 24, informs LETA/BNS.

Lithuania further lifts limit on public gatherings
10.06.2020The Lithuanian government on June 10th further lifted the limit on public gatherings. The Cabinet allowed outdoor events with up to 700 attendees and indoor events with up to 150 from June 17, reports LETA/BNS.

Shareholders of Latvia's state-owned energy company Latvenergo on Wednesday appointed the company's new supervisory board, which will now includes Ivars Golsts, Toms Silins, Aigars Laizans, Gundars Ruza and Kaspars Rokens, LETA was told at the Economics Ministry.
Saeima passes administrative territorial reform bill in final reading
As of July 1, 2021, Latvia will have 42 municipalities according to the administrative territorial reform (ATR) bill which Saeima passed in the final reading on Wednesday, reported LETA.
