Investments worth more than EUR 10.3 mln are planned in the Domina Shopping mall in Riga for the next coming years, the mall's director Dina Bunce told LETA.

She said that Domina Shopping has a goal to become a full concept shopping mall in the next couple of years.

This year, EUR 1.3 mln will be invested in upgrading the shopping mall's infrastructure, which includes finishing the renovation of the mall's interior, modernizing the fire safety system and taking a number of measures to improve energy efficiency. Meanwhile, EUR 9 mln will be spent on the construction of a new entertainment and recreation area, with the works due to start at the beginning of 2020.

Bunce added that several new brands are planning to open stores at Domina Shopping and that there are also plans to expand the range of cafes and restaurants operating at the mall.

A total of EUR 1.4 mln were invested in Domina Shopping in 2019, Bunce said.

As reported, Domina Shopping turned over EUR 87.71 mln in 2018, up 25% against a year before.

In 2016 EfTEN Real Estate Fund II, an investment fund of the Estonian commercial real estate fund manager Eften Capital, acquired Domina Shopping mall for EUR 74.5 mln.
