Lithuania: International trade in services in III quarter 2019

The Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania announce that in III quarter 2019, exports of services amounted to EUR 3.1 bn, with a y-o-y increase of 19.8%(almost one fifth), imports of services – EUR 1.8 bn and 11.8% respectively.

Companies operating out of the Klaipeda FEZ have earned 1.2 bn EUR and exported products worth 610 million last year. Even though these statistics are the sum of the effort from all 34 FEZ companies, it still makes the zone the biggest employer in the region, the biggest foreign direct investment magnet of the city and the county, as well as a significant contributor to the country-wide economic statistics, Klaipeda FEZ representatives informed BC.

Lithuania's exports rise 6.9 pct in H1 y-o-y

In July 2019, exports amounted to EUR 2.46 bn, imports – EUR 2.81 bn. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.43 bn. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 0.35 bn.

Estonian economist: Export slowdown attributable to decline in shale oil products' export

The deceleration of export growth to 4 % in the first half-year is largely attributable to a low result in June, the outcome was foremost affected by a strong decline in the export of shale oil products, Swedbank chief economist Tonu Mertsina said LETA/BNS.
