Self-isolation mandatory for travelers arriving in Latvia from Andorra, Iceland and Spain

BC, Riga, 17.07.2020.Print version
Travelers arriving in Latvia from Andorra, Iceland and Spain are required to self-isolate for 14 days because of an increased Covid-19 incidence in these countries, whereas arrivals from the Czech Republic, Serbia and Montenegro are no longer required to self-isolate, writes LETA, according to the latest data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Based on the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the 14-day self-isolation requirement still applies to people arriving in Latvia from Sweden, Luxembourg, Portugal, San Marino, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia. Andorra, Iceland and Spain have been added to the list of 'unsafe' countries this week.

Self-isolation is also compulsory for travelers arriving in Latvia from Russia, Belarus and other non-EU countries.

The Center for Disease Prevention and Control advises against visiting these countries.

Of all the EU and EEA countries, Luxembourg is now showing the highest Covid-19 incidence - 118.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In Sweden, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases is now down to 61 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Portugal has the third highest Covid-19 incidence, at 48.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Vatican is currently the only state with no active Covid-19 cases.

The self-isolation requirement does not apply to arrivals from countries where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases does not exceed 16 per 100,000 population.
