Bus operator Atko Grupp boosts FY sales, earnings in 2019

The bus and tourism services group Atko Grupp saw its sales in 2019 grow 8.1% year on year to 21.3 million euros, while its net profit rose 29.5% to 747,100 euros, informs LETA/BNS.

Operating profit meanwhile surged 34.4% to 943,800 euros, it appears from the annual report of Atko Grupp.


Revenue from passenger transport, which made up the bulk of sales revenue, grew 10.5% to 19.6 million euros. Other sales contributed 926,300 euros, sales of tourism services 475,200 euros and income from rent 376,700 euros of sales.


The bus operator Atko Liinid finished the period with a loss of 293,000 euros on sales of 9.6 million euros. The company operated county bus routes in Harju, Jarva and Saare counties and city bus lines in Kuressaare and Kohtla-Jarve in 2019.


The group employed 99 people on the average last year, two fewer than in 2018. Wage costs rose from 1.1 million to 1.2 million euros. Agency workers included, 504 people worked at companies of Atko Grupp last year.


Undistributed earnings of Atko Grupp as at balance sheet date totaled 8.9 million euros. The group was planning to pay out 220,000 euros in dividends.


In addition to the parent company, the group is made up of the companies OU Atko Liinid, AS Atko Bussiliinid, AS Atko Tours, OU Atko Haldus, OU ATG Kinnisvara, OU Atko Capital Grupp, OU Atko Olitoostus, OU MTG Autorent, OU Eesti Bussiliinid, OU Jarve Bussipark and OU Atko Transport.


According to Creditinfo, the owners of Atko Grupp are MP Kersti Sarapuu with a holding of 50%, her daughter Kethrin Tomingas with a holding of 25% and Kersti Sarapuu's son-in-law Margo Tomingas also with 25%.
