Wolt launches express deliveries of food products to homes and offices in Riga

BC, Riga, 19.10.2020.Print version
The Helsinki-based food delivery startup Wolt has launched express deliveries of food products to homes and offices in Riga, the company's representatives informed LETA.

Liis Ristal, Baltic General Manager at Wolt, said that the delivery time is between 30 minutes and an hour. She noted that the Covid-19 pandemic prompted Wolt to launch the service several months earlier than planned.

We tested express food deliveries this past spring and saw that there is strong demand for deliveries of groceries to homes that would take less than an hour. The demand tends to grow, which is why we will surely expand the range of our business partners and food products, Ristal said.

The Wolt platform currently offers food products from more than 20 producers and stores, and their number will continue to increase.

At present, users of Wolt platform can order food products from Orkla Latvija, organic products from Bioveikals.lv, meat and culinary products from Lauku Baudas, gastronomy products from Lage, caviar from Caviar d'Eden, ice cream from Home of Ice Cream, ice cream, bread and bakery products from Salas Maizes, as well as groceries from LaTS retail chain.

According to information available at Firmas.lv. Wolt Latvija closed 2019 with EUR 1.62 million in turnover and a profit of EUR 77,165. Wolt Latvija, established in October 2016, belongs to Finland's Wolt Enterprises.
