Agreement signed on rent of pavilion for Latvia's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai
The agreement was signed by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirated in Latvia Hanan Khalfan Al Aleeli and Latvian Economics Ministry's deputy state secretary Raimonds Aleksejenko.
The ministry said that initially Expo 2020 Dubai was planned for the time period from October 20, 2020, until April 10, 2021, but due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the fair has been postponed to October 1, 2021, until March 31, 2022.
In line with the agreement, Latvia will use the pavilion that has already been built, arranging it for the needs of the exhibition and organizing business and culture events in it.
Aleksejenko underscored that Expo 2020 Dubai is a significant event for Latvia and the world as it might be the first global event after the Covid-19 crisis, and it will play an important role in recovery of economies.
As reported, the Latvian government decided earlier to allocate EUR 1.4 million for Latvia's participation in the fair
