As EU funds continue to provide support for the development of tramway infrastructure in Daugavpils and Liepaja, a second round of the project competition has been announced as part of the procurement, CFCA said.
To help increase the number of passengers using environmentally-friendly public transport, the EU Cohesion Fund has allocated EUR 10 million to each project for the further development of tramlines in Daugavpils and Liepaja, including reconstruction of infrastructure by extending the existing tramlines and constructing new ones, as well as buying new rolling stock.
The tramline infrastructure projects are scheduled for completion in 2023.
