Second US oil cargo for Belarus on its way to Lithuanian port

BC, Vilnius, 23.07.2020.Print version
A new cargo of US crude for Belarus is on its way to the Lithuanian seaport of Klaipeda, marking the second ever shipment of American oil for Belarus, informed LETA/BNS.

A tanker is to deliver around 75,000 tons of crude from the US, Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the Klaipeda oil terminal, has said.

It will be the ninth tanker with crude oil for Belarus this year.

The Qatari-flagged UMLMA is coming from Port Neches-Beaumont and is expected to arrive in Klaipeda on August 6-8. It will be the ship's first visit to the Lithuanian port, Klaipedos Nafta said.

The tanker departed Texas about a week ago, according to the vessel position tracking websites Marinetraffic.com and Myshiptracking.com.

Belarus' state-owned oil group Belneftekhim said last week that a vessel with 80,000 tons of White Eagle Blend (WEB) oil would come from the US port of Beaumont to Klaipeda in early August.

From Klaipeda, the crude oil will be transported by rail to the Nafta refinery in Novopolotsk, according to Belneftekhim.

A tanker delivered 77,000 tons of oil for Belarus from the port of Beaumont to Klaipeda in early June.
