BC, Riga, 22.07.2020.Print version
eParaksts mobile e-signature app has been recognized as a qualified electronic signature creation device (QSCD), and thus the e-signature has an equal legal level in Latvia and the EU as a hand-written signature, said Vineta Sprugaine, a representative of the Latvian State Radio and TV Center (LVRTC), informs LETA.

She said that so far the e-signatures created by eParaksts mobile has the status of a signature only in Latvia, while in the EU it was qualified as an improved e-signature with AdES/QC certificate.

In order to receive the highest qualification, an independent international audit was conducted.

LVRTC representative said all e-signature tools ensure two functions - signing of documents and authentification of e-identity. So far the highest qualification e-signatures could be created with the help of an eID card and with eParaksts card, used by legal entities.

In the first six months of this year e-signature tools have been used for signing documents more than four million times, which is by 800,000 more than in the respective period last year.
