Lithuania's Limarko buys two reefer ships

Limarko, a Lithuanian shipping company, part of the Limarko Group, has acquired two reefer ships, bringing its total fleet to eight vessels, including three container ships and five reefer ships, the group said, reported LETA/BNS.
The coronavirus pandemic and a drop in ship prices have
created favorable conditions for expanding the company's fleet, Vytautas
Lygnugaris, president of the Limarko Group, said.
"Due to their size and technical properties, the
newly-acquired ships are ideal for the transportation of fish and seafood in
the global market. With their acquisition, we have bolstered our competitive
edge in the complicated shipping market," he said.
Reefer ships are use to transport meat, fish, fruits and
vegetables.
The Limarko Group includes for companies of Limarko, Limarko
Juru Agentura, Baltkonta andBelarusian subsidiary LimBela Logistics.
