The Latvian State Culture Capital Foundation has granted financial support to 347 people in creative professions, who won a competition organized as part of an employment program intended to help creative people survive the downtime caused by the Covid-19 crisis, informs LETA.

The State Culture Capital Foundation said that under the program's amended provisions, eligible for the grants are persons whose monthly income from their creative activity, excluding royalties, did not exceed EUR 538 per month between March 13 and May 31.

The program is intended to provide financial support to economically active creative persons whose income substantially reduced during the Covid-19 emergency, including those who received downtime benefits, which cannot be considered income from economic activity.

The winners of the competition will receive one-time grants of EUR 1,614 before taxes to support their creative work planned from July 1 to September 30. The total budget of the support program is EUR 1.9 million.
