BC, Riga, 14.07.2020.Print version
The state will subsidize the salaries of those working in the tourism sector by allocating EUR 19.2 million, according to a proposal developed by the Economics Ministry that the government supported on Tuesday, informs LETA.

The Economics Ministry's regulations Procedure for Granting Support to Economic Operators Affected by the Covid-19 Tourism Sector, which the government approved today, determines the procedure and amount of support to be granted to those affected by the Covid-19 crisis.

It is planned that the available state budget funding for this purpose will be EUR 19.2 million. The support is planned to be provided in the form of a grant, which will be allocated to compensate for salaries.

The support could be set at 30 percent of the mandatory state social insurance contributions paid by the particular company in 2019, but not more than EUR 800,000 for a related group of persons.

It is planned that it will be possible to apply for this support until September 30 of this year, submitting an application to the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA).

The LIAA will also oversee the proper use of this support.
