"The latest CDC data shows that already very soon regular passenger flights will be restarted between Latvia and the UK," the transport minister wrote on Twitter, urging  people to follow carriers' information. 

As reported, according to the data released on Friday by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, travelers arriving from the UK and five other countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) and European Union (EU) are still required to spend 14 days in self-isolation. The other five countries include Sweden, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria and Luxembourg.

Those who are planning trips to the aforementioned countries will have to spend 14 days in self-isolation upon return to Latvia. The requirement also applies to those traveling in transit, namely, if the person has traveled through these countries or spent time at their airports.

The self-isolation requirement does not apply to arrivals from countries where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases does not exceed 15 per 100,000 population.

According to the latest data, the UK's 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 24.4 per 100,000 population. Considering the current number, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control advises travelers to carefully assess the necessity to travel to the UK and emphasizes that 14-day self-isolation is mandatory upon return from or crossing this country.
