The center is to be completed in spring 2021.

Indrek Jakobson, head of commercial property development at YIT Estonia, said that agreements concluded to date cover half of the 11 spaces of the nearly 3,000-square-meter mall, while a further 25% of spaces have been booked.

"Fortunately, the coronavirus crisis didn't cause any extensive delays in our construction plans and a car service company, a vehicle inspection station, a tire works company, a carwash, as well as vehicle spare part and tool stores will welcome guests at Tahesaju MotorCenter already next spring," Jakobson said according to spokespeople for YIT.

Jakobson described the new mall as a center geared towards the needs of carowners, where all the services necessary for a car have been brought together under one roof. "The two first centers have proven very popular," he said.

MotorCenter is a concept devised in Finland that serves as basis for the operation of already over ten such centers across the Nordic region.

Jakobson said that Tahesaju MotorCenter definitely will not be the last such development in Estonia as negotiations are already underway for establishing a fourth MotorCenter in Tallinn.
