airBaltic resumes flights to Hamburg, Berlin

Latvian national airline airBaltic will resume direct flights from Riga, to Hamburg and Berlin, BC learned from the company.

The Riga-Hamburg flight will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Riga-Berlins flights will be performed daily, except for Saturdays.


As reported, the Transport Ministry has allowed airBaltic to perform flights from Riga to Frankfurt and Oslo as of May 18, to Tallinn and Vilnius, to Amsterdam, Helsinki, Munich as of May 25.

airBatic will also reopen flights to Vienna and Dusseldorf in early June.


“The safety and health of our passengers, our employees and the society stand above all. All of our passengers are now provided with a face mask and disinfectant wipes. Our new flight operations follow the recommendations issued by authorities,” said airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss.

Gauss said that airBaltic now returns with a clear target to maintain its position in the region. 


According to preliminary figures, airBaltic turned over EUR 508.955 mln and suffered a EUR 7.7 mn lloss in 2019. This year, the turnover of Latvia's airBaltic national carrier might drop to EUR 175 mln.
