Five Lithuanian beaches granted Blue Flag

ive Lithuanian beaches have been granted the Blue Flag, an international quality mark for beaches, reports LETA/BNS.
These are the central beaches of Nida and Juodkrante in the Curonian Spit, the Birute Park Beach in the Baltic Sea resort of Palanga, and Smiltyne I and Melnrage II in the seaport of Klaipeda, the Association of Local Authorities in Lithuania (ALAL) has said

The Copenhagen-based International Blue Flag Jury granted the status to all Lithuanian beaches that had applied, taking into account the opinion of the national program coordinator, it said.
The Blue Flag is awarded for the summer season to beaches that meet international criteria for environmental education, management and information, water quality, safety and services.
