Latvian Maritime Administration hasn't established any violations on cargo ships carrying dangerous cargo
She explained that in accordance with the regulations on the movement and control of dangerous and polluting cargo in ports, the port authority performs compliance control in the territory of the respective port.
In turn, inspections on ships transporting dangerous and polluting cargo are performed by an inspector appointed by the LMA at least once a month, on a random basis. In reality, according to the LMA, such inspections take place five times a quarter or 20 times a year.
During the last several years, LMA inspectors have not detected any violations of these regulations on ships.
