Norway #1 in Bloomberg's gas price ranking 2014

The Bloomberg's business and financial news agency has ranked Norway number one in its Gas Price Ranking, while Latvia is ranked 39th, cites LETA.

The ranking sorts 61 countries by average price and by "pain at the pump" – the portion of an average day’s wages needed to buy a gallon of fuel.

 

The price of one gallon of fuel in Latvia costs USD 5.56, making it the 39th highest price amongst those countries included in the rankings.



 

''The price of gasoline in Latvia fell 20% in the past six months – the third-biggest drop in the ranking. The average daily income is USD 44, of which 13% is needed to buy a gallon of gas,'' Bloomberg points out.

 

In regard to the ''pain at the pump'' ranking, Latvia is ranked 23rd according to Bloomberg.

 

Lithuania has the most expensive gasoline in the Baltics – USD 5.88 per gallon, while in Estonia a gallon of gasoline costs USD 5.71.

 

The cheapest gasoline is in Venezuela, where a gallon of gasoline costs USD 0.04.

 

The price of one gallon of gasoline in Norway costs USD 9.26, but Norwegians only spend about 3.4% of their daily income for gasoline.
