Latvia's export remains unchanged in H1

During the first six months of 2014, Latvia's export has remained unchanged, as compared to the same period in 2013, as information provided by Eurostat indicates, cites LETA.

Belgium, Spain, and Portugal have also registered a steady export.

 

A total of 13 member states have registered an increase in export in the first six months of 2014, while 11 countries registered a decrease. In four countries the export remained unchanged.

 

The largest increase in export was registered in Croatia – 12%, followed by Czech Republic, Poland, and Romania – 8%.

 

The largest decline in export was registered in Malta – 26%, and Estonia – 6%. Meanwhile, Lithuania's export decreased 4% in the first six months of 2014, while Estonia registered a decrease of 6%.

 

At the same time, Latvia's import in the first six months of 2014 decreased by 3%.


Finland, Lithuania, and Bulgaria registered a steady import.

 

A total of 16 countries registered an increase in import, while nine registered a decrease. In three countries the import remained unchanged.

 

The largest decrease in import was registered in Malta – 10%, and Luxembourg – 8%. Meanwhile, the largest increase in import was recorded in Romania – 8%, as well as Czech Republic, Ireland, and Poland – 7%.

 

Estonia's import in the first six months of 2014 decreased by 4%.
