Lithuania strives for closer economical relations with Malaysia

On Monday, Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas and Lithuanian delegation visited Malaysia. The minister and the delegation met with representatives of state institutions and business organizations, informs LETA/ELTA.

During the meeting, the issued related to the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, investment and business opportunities were being discussed.

 

The representatives of Lithuania met with Malaysia's Sultan of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah, President and Chief Executive Officer of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) Tan Sri Dato' Shamsul, the directors of the Malaysia's investments and innovation agencies and the representatives of the bank CIMB and combine Sime Darby.

 

During the meeting, the potential of the Lithuania's exports to the Malaysia and Southeast Asia and the potential of the magnetization of the investments in Lithuania were being discussed. Moreover, the supply of the service of the Lithuania's transport and logistics for Malaysia's exporters was being discussed as well.

 

Petronas was incorporated on 17 August 1974 as the national oil company of Malaysia, vested with the entire ownership and control of the petroleum resources in the country. It has since grown from merely being the manager and regulator of Malaysia's upstream sector into a fully integrated oil and gas corporation, ranked among the Fortune Global 500 largest corporations in the world.
