Latvia enjoys excellent political relations with the United States, however, the potential for bilateral economic cooperation is not being fully achieved, said Rinkevics urging U.S. businessmen to invest in Latvia.

According to Rinkevics, Latvia has a beneficial geographic location, valuable experience of cooperation with Russia and CIS countries, and the Latvian government works consistently on improving the country's business environment, which is reflected in the "Doing Business 2012" report, where Latvia has risen ten places to the 21st place, said Rinkevics.

The U.S. business delegation yesterday also participated in a seminar on U.S.-Latvia business cooperation opportunities, where U.S. businessmen were acquainted with the business environment of Latvia, logistic opportunities and possibilities for cooperation with the Latvian IT sector. The U.S. businessmen will also have individual meetings with Latvian companies and business associations, as well as meetings with the president, prime minister, U.S. ambassador to Latvia, and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia.
