14% of new cars in Estonia were registered over the Internet

Print versionNearly 14% of all new cars in Estonia that were registered in 2008 for the first time in the Motor Vehicle Registration Centre’s paper-free e-environment.
The car dealerships were able to start using e-services since November last year while individuals since May this year, writes Postimees Online/LETA.
During the past few weeks the most popular services are registering for a driver’s exam, ordering for duplicates of registration and temporary deletion of vehicles from the register.
In order to enter into the e-services environment of the Motor Vehicle Registration Centre, one needs an ID card and a card reader that is connected to a computer. It is also possible to enter the environment via the internet banking environment of Hansapank, Krediidipank and SEB.
