In November, the consumer price index in Estonia was more affected by motor fuel and electricity

According to Statistics Estonia, the consumer price index increased by 0.1% in November compared to October. Compared to November of the previous year, the index decreased by 1.1%, goods were 1.2% and services 0.9% cheaper.

According to Viktoria Trasanov , the leading analyst of Statistics Estonia  , compared to November of the previous year, the main factor influencing the consumer price index was the decrease in the price of motor fuel. "Diesel prices fell by 26.9% and petrol prices by 9.1%. The impact of housing services was even greater, half of which was due to a 2.6% drop in the prices of electricity, heat and heating, ”added Trasanov.


Among food products, baby food (13%) and other flour mixtures became more expensive (12.3%) and potatoes (17.9%), butter (14.9%) and fresh fish (10%) became cheaper.


Compared to October of this year, the consumer price index was more affected by the 2.3% rise in prices for electricity and 3.2% for diesel and the end of campaigns in several product groups in October. Fresh fruit became cheaper by 7% and vegetables by 2.3% during the month.
