Lithuania's experts have named Robertas Dargis, ex-president of the Lithuanian Industrialists' Confederation, Nerijus Maciulis, Swedbank's chief economist, and Arvydas Avulis, board chairman at the property development group Hanner, as the country's most influential business and economy people in Lithuania, according to a survey published by the Delfi.lt online news site cites LETA/BNS.

The trio are then followed in the annual rating by Raimondas Kuodis, deputy chairman of the central Bank of Lithuania, Nerijus Numavicius (now called Numa), the key shareholder of the Vilniaus Prekyba business group, MG Baltic President Darius Mockus, Danas Arlauskas, the head of the Lithuanian Business Employers' Confederation, Biotechpharma Chairman Vladas Algirdas Bumelis, economist Romas Lazutka and Valdas Sutkus, former president of the Lithuanian Business Confederation.

The experts were surveyed by the magazine Reitingai (Ratings), commissioned by the delfi.lt website. The so-called elite opinion poll was carried out in May-June and involved 893 people, including politicians, journalists, businessman and representatives of culture.

Gintaras Sarafinas, editor-in-chief at Reitingai, paid attention to the fact that the survey was carried out before Dargis was replaced by Vidmantas Janulevicius as president of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, and Sutkus left the position of the Lithuanian Business Confederation due to suspicions brought against him by Lithuania's law enforcement.

"These two things were not considered in the survey," he said.

In a separate public poll, Avulis was named as the most influential, Maciulis came in second Dargis was third.
