Investment level in Latvia remains low - Economy Ministry

Print versionDespite an increase in investments in the country, the overall investment level in Latvia remains low, according to the Economy Ministry information writes LETA.

''Despite an increase in investments, the investments level
in Latvia is still about three %age points of GDP below the average level
between 1995 to 2004, and substantially lower during the so-called boom years
from 2005 to 2007,'' the ministry points out.
In 2017, private investments increased by 9.3%, but in the
first half of 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, increased by 17.2%
and reached 17% of GDP, the ministry informs.
