Tatjana Poplavska – the richest woman in Latvia

Tatjana Poplavska, an indirect co-owner of the joint-stock egg producer Balticovo, is the richest woman in Latvia with an estimated worth of EUR 30 million, as the Kapitals business magazine's representative Raimonds Locmelis told LETA.

95% of Balticovo shares has been held by the company BCO since 2009. According to Firmas.lv data, BCO belongs to Poplavska (66%) and Valdis Grimze (33%).

 

Fuel retailer Viada co-owner Alevtina Moroza is second on the female rich list with an estimated worth of EUR 17 million, while Marno J real estate company's co-owner Jelena Sagateljana is third (EUR 16 million).

 

Tatjana Omelcenko, who owns 30% stake in the Freeport of Riga stevedoring company Strek, is ranked fourth with an estimated worth of EUR 13 million, whereas Ieva Treija, the owner of the HORECA equipment, nut and dried fruit seller Gemoss, is in fifth place, her worth is estimated at EUR 10 million.

 

Rezekne Meatpacking Plant's largest shareholder Vineta Piteronoka and Mercede-Benz dealership Domenikss owner Benita Sadauska share the sixth and seventh place with an estimated worth of EUR 9 million each.

 

Telecommunications companies Belam-Riga and Telekom Invest co-owner Ludmila Kaca and Daugavpils real estate developer Pellston Nami co-owner Inta Kugra share the eighth and ninth places, their worth is estimated at EUR 8 million.

 

Larisa Polosuhina, co-owner of Rigas Laku un Krasu Rupnica (Riga Varnish and Paint) is tenth richest woman in Latvia with an estimated worth of EUR 7 million.

 

Lato Lapsa, one of the persons who worked on the latest ranking of Latvia's richest women, explains that, unlike the previous rankings where popularity and social status played an important role, this time the ranking is based solely on facts and figures – turnover, profit, the number of jobs created, as these are the criteria that show whether a businessperson is successful.

 

The ranking of the richest women in Latvia has been created in collaboration with the corporate finance company Laika Stars and Lursoft IT.
