The parties making up the new government have signed the government declaration and coalition partner agreement this morning, reports LETA.

The documents were signed by prime minister candidate Maris Kucinskis, as well as representatives from Unity, the Union of Greens and Farmers and the National Alliance.

The coalition partner agreement includes several sections. The first deals with the general provisions – the coalition parties' obligations to each other and relations with the opposition, civic society and the media, responsibility for each minister and the entire government's work, implementation of priorities stated in the government's declaration, all ministers' responsibility to express the same position on foreign policy matters, and others.

The second section describes work of the Coalition Council and the various formats at which coalition parties will meet. The third and fourth sections deal with relations between the Cabinet of Ministers and Saeima groups of cooperation partners and non-partisan Saeima members.

The fifth section lays down the rights and duties of the prime minister, and the final section includes coalition partners' signatures.
