Standard & Poor's (S&P) ratings services has affirmed its 'A-/A-2' long and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Latvia. The outlook is stable, informs LETA/BNS.

S&P points out that it expects the Latvian economy to grow by 2.4% in 2015, in line with its previous expectations.

''The general government's fiscal position remains strong, and we expect net government debt will fall below 30% of GDP by 2019,'' S&P points out, thus affirming its 'A-/A-2' ratings on Latvia.

'''The outlook is stable, balancing upside potential for Latvia's fiscal performance and downside risks associated with its sizable nonresident deposits in the banking system,'' the report goes on to say.
