Marina Kaljurand widely supported as potential next President of Estonia

According to a survey carried out by polling company TNS Emor, Marina Kaljurand is the most popular candidate for the post of the President of the Republic among the people, writes LETA/Postimees.

Estonia will get a new President in slightly less than a year, and TNS Emor polled 1,203 Estonian residents in face-to-face interviews and over the Internet, to find out whom the people might support.

 

From among the list of candidates proposed by the polling company, current Minister of Foreign Affairs Marina Kaljurand was the most popular one with 14.3%. She was the preferred candidates among people of Estonian origin, among women, those with secondary education, middle aged and the elderly and of medium income.

 

Ranking second among candidates is Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar (13.2%), more preferred by non-Estonians, men, and residents of Tallinn and the Ida-Viru County.

 

Third most popular candidate is Siim Kallas (11.2%), who is the favourite among Estonian residents with higher education and of higher income.
