Pensions in Estonia increase by 6.3%

BC, Tallinn, 01.04.2015.Print version
Old-age pensions will increase by 6.3% in Estonia starting April 1, 2015 due to the new pension index; the average monthly pension will be 375 euros, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The government approved at the beginning of the year the new pension index, which sets the new national pension rate at 158.37 euros a month. Last year it was 148.98 euros.

The yearly coefficient rises from 4.9 to 5.2 euros. This means that a person who has worked for 44 years, will have pension of 375 euros a month, last year it was 353 euros.

Every person is calculated an individual pension based on their work contribution and thus the increase is also different.
