BC, Tallinn, 06.02.2014.Print version
Estonian economy and communications minister Juhan Parts met on Thursday in Delhi with Indian justice and IT Minister Kapil Sibal and signed an IT agreement between Estonia and India, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The agreement enables Estonia to share its e-governance experiences and gives the companies of both states a guarantee for practical IT cooperation. In addition to e-governance and academic cooperation, the agreement covers common activities for developing and implementing innovative solutions. Parts also stressed the importance of university education and research cooperation in the IT sphere.

The agreement gives both states' companies a guarantee for practical IT cooperation. The ministers spoke, as a possibility for real common activities, of launching the Indian state cloud service, in connection with which Estonian companies will have a chance of offering their products and services in public and private sector cooperation projects.

Kapil Sibal paid an official visit to Estonia in the autumn of 2011. Around 150 Indian central government and federal states' e-government specialists have so far participated in training in the Estonian E-State Academy.
