The objective of the visit was to give an overview of Estonia’s achievements in the field of information technology. The delegation was most impressed by the option of having digital signature work on international levels.

“In the demo centre, the visitors were able to see what has been done in Estonia in the field of cloud computing, and to try how our most famous e-solutions work in reality,” stated CEO of Technopolis Ülemiste AS Gert Jostov.

Managing Director of the Estonian ICT Demo Centre Indrek Vimberg stated that the delegation members were most impressed by the digital signature, the working of which in the Signwise service between Estonia and Finland was presented. “The truth is, many European Union countries have adopted laws on digital signatures, but in practice Estonia is one of the few countries actually using it,” said Vimberg.

The European Cloud Computing Council members were also highly interested in Estonia’s e-health solutions and the option of giving digital signatures with the help of mobile phones.
