Estonian Government to fund IT projects with 4.7 mln euros

The Government of Estonia approved on Thursday of the plan for developing the information society during the years 2012-2013 and support 15 new IT projects with a total of 4,667,396 euros, writes LETA/National Broadcasting.

The investments plan includes three projects whereby financing decisions had already been made in the Government and hence the total volume of investments under the said plan is 5,943,032 euros.

 

The objective of the plan is to make financing decisions for investments into ICT projects of national importance and to determine, which projects and to which extent would be financed.

 

The financing decisions were made on modernising the e-police equipment, information system for registration of distress calls to the alarm centres and for administering events, creating a self-service environment for fire safety supervision, creating a system for administering international public information, expanding the functionalities of ID cards and digital signatures, updating the State grid network and equipment, measuring and improving the security level in the State information system and in the information society.
