Both Estonia and Saint Lucia are small countries where the day-to-day activities of residents can be made significantly more convenient and costs reduced with the help of government e-services and digital solutions, spokespeople for the Estonian government said.

Chastanet presented plans of Saint Lucia to centralize and digitize government services. For instance, plans are to make social benefits and social services automatic and corresponding to the person's income and needs using blockchain technology. In addition, the island nation frequently ravaged by hurricanes uses satellites to monitor changes in soil and wishes to use satellites in property valuation.

Ratas said that Estonia is glad to share its experiences with e-government solutions and their implementation, but also cyber security, which in the digital world must always be one step ahead of developments.

The prime ministers also talked about combating climate change, especially protecting the marine environment.

Chastanet is taking part in a conference on e-governance in Tallinn organized by the e-Governance Academy.
