The U.S. software technology company Intertrust Technologies Corporation has acquired the Estonian geospatial big data service provider Planet OS, informs LETA/BNS.

Intertrust Technologies said in a press release that the company has acquired Planet OS, a company founded by Estonian entrepreneurs. The entire Planet OS team will join Intertrust and the company will expand its engineering operations in Estonia.

"We are very enthusiastic about establishing technology operations in Estonia, which is a hotbed of technology innovation, and a serious source of engineering talent," CEO of Intertrust Talal Shamoon said.

Planet OS allows users to manage and visualize multi-format, large-scale data from numerous sources, enabling operators to see patterns and act on analyses that they may have previously overlooked. The platform can reformat data to meet user needs and provide powerful visualization capabilities, and device makers and service providers can go to market with innovative data-driven products in broad markets from self-driving cars and modern public transportation to food security value chain monitoring and healthcare.

Founded in 1990, Intertrust is based in Silicon Valley, with regional offices in London, Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul, and Beijing, providing computing products and services to leading global corporations – from mobile and consumer electronics manufacturers and service providers to enterprise software platform companies.
