Estonian startup database launched

BC, Tallinn, 08.06.2016.Print version
Startup Estonia and Funderbeam, a primary and secondary market for early-stage startup investments, have just launched an Estonian startup database to help local startups attract more foreign investments, reports LETA/BNS.

The new database, which can be found on the website on Startup Estonia, lists over 400 startups with Estonian founders with their basic information, such as a short one line description of the main idea, industry tags, amount of investments raised and the development stage. The information in the database comes from the Funderbeam platform, which brings together information on more than 150,000 startups from all over the world, Startup Estonia said.

"We believe that the new database will become an important and supportive tool for the local startup ecosystem, helping to improve the visibility of the startups, especially among foreign investors," Mari Vavulski, head of Startup Estonia, said.

"We are proud to provide data collected by Funderbeam to Startup Estonia to help support the Estonian startup ecosystem and make it more visible in the world. We'll be happy to help any organisation that supports local startups, as improving the opportunities for startups ultimately benefits us," said Kaidi Ruusalepp, one of the founders of Funderbeam.

Startup Estonia pre-launched the new database at Estonia's biggest tech conference Latitude59 that took place from May 31 to June 1 in Tallinn. The database can be found at http://startupestonia.ee/startups. All Estonian startups are encouraged to add and update their info for the database on their respective profiles on Funderbeam.

Funderbeam launched a marketplace in April this year for early-stage startup investments, a platform where investors can pool their money across borders to help startups raise capital.
