The opportunity of obtaining and submitting information online at various state registries is used at least once a week by 14% of respondents surveyed in Latvia, 26% – in Lithuania, and 35% – in Estonia, reports LETA, according to GfK CR Baltic's survey on the role of technology in people's daily life.

According to the survey, 41% of residents in Latvia use e-services at least once a month, which is the same proportion as in Estonia, but higher than in Lithuania, where 37% of respondents use e-services at least once a month.

27% of residents in Latvia have tried an e-service at least once, but continue using them very rarely. Another 19%, which is the highest indicator among all Baltic States, admitted that they never tried using an e-service, while Estonia registered only 7%.

The authors of the study indicate that state institutions must think over their communication with residents, taking into account that the state has invested a lot of resources into a system which is not properly utilized.

The survey was conducted in April 2015. A total of 2,493 respondents in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, aged between 18 and 65, were interviewed.
