"Making the Estonian public administration more efficient with e-services has been successful and continues to be our priority. For example, Estonia is one of the few member states where the work environment allows conducting a state procurement entirely electronically," said Lauri.

"The widely used service reduces the state's administrative burden, and users can easily and quickly organize public procurements, and participate in them," she added.

E-procurements account for almost 80 percent of all state procurements and the number of users has grown to 33,000, the ministry said.

Estonia is different from the others, by enabling to use a procedural environment that supports work processes, not only the so-called mailbox solution, which is predominantly used in the other member states.

The ministers also discussed the possibilities of using the ID card for participation in procurements as well as in business, such as signing of contracts.

They discussed also Estonian e-invoices transition plan.
