In Q2, the number of tourists in Latvian hotels fell by 78.1%

After the travel restrictions from neighbouring countries Estonia and Lithuania were lifted, rapid inflow of tourists was observed in June. The number of visitors from Estonia, as compared to June of the previous year, increased by 5.6 %, but the number of nights spent by them – by 17.6 %.

Unemployment rate in Estonia reached 7.1% in Q2

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 70.4%, the employment rate was 65.4%, and the unemployment rate was 7.1%. There were 49,400 unemployed persons, which is 14,400 more than in the first quarter.

Swedbank: Unemployment in Estonia has stayed moderate

Unemployment in Estonia has remained moderate despite the crisis, and the rate of unemployment for the full-year will be 8%, Liis Elmik, senior economist at Swedbank, said on Friday.
