A new cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia's gas company Novatek is on it way to the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, marking the 20th such delivery in the new gas year that started last October, reported LETA/BNS.

The Coral Favia gas carrier is scheduled to arrive later in the day and dock at the Klaipeda LNG terminal's FSRU Independence late on Saturday, bringing 9,500 cubic meters of LNG.

According to the vessel tracking websites marinetraffic.com, vesselfinder.com and myshiptracking.com, the Coral Favia gas carrier is coming from Russia's Baltic Sea port of Vysotsk where Novatek has a LNG facility.

Klaipedos Nafta, the terminal's operator, told BNS the tanker delivered around 10,000 cubic meters of LNG.

Lithuania's intelligence said last week Novatek is closely related to the Kremlin and its eventual goal is consolidate its position in the Baltic market.

Lithuanian Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas earlier toldthe volumes of imported Novatek gas are not significant but if they continued to grow, restrictions would have to be introduced.
