Japan's KEPCO takes interest in Lithuania's synchronization, green energy projects

Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas is meeting with officials from Japan's Kansai Electric Power Group (KEPCO) in Vilnius on Thursday to discuss Lithuania's power grid synchronization and green energy projects. informed LETA/BNS.
"The company is interested in cooperation and investment opportunities in Lithuania, especially the project for the Baltic countries' synchronization with the continental European grid, as well as investment opportunities in renewable energy and liquefied natural gas," Aurelija Vernickaite, an advisor to the minister, told.
Lithuania and Japan signed last year an agreement to seek practical cooperation in renewable energy, energy saving and storage technologies, as well as in the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear power plants.
