Vexoil Bunkering tops list of Latvia's biggest tax debtors in January

As at January 1, 2020, bunkering services provider Vexoil Bunkering topped the list of Latvia’s largest tax debtors with an outstanding tax debt of EUR 39.256 mln, according to the State Revenue Service’s data write LETA/BNS.

Vexoil Bukering on February 25, 2019, was deleted from the list of the value added tax (VAT) payers.


Ormus, a wholesaler of construction materials, was the second biggest tax debtor owing EUR 21.027 mln in unpaid taxes, and Bebriko Ltd, an insolvent manufacturer of copper alloy products, was third with a tax debt of EUR 14.015 mln.


Insolvent scrap tire recycling company Riepu Bloki was the fourth largest debtor with EUR 12.966 mln in unpaid taxes and insolvent metal company Krasainie Lejumi was fifth with a tax debt of EUR 12.322 mln. Both companies have been declared in solvent - in 2018 and 2014 respectively.


Dzintars cosmetics company was sixth with EUR 8.887 mln in tax debt, also declared insolvent at the end of 2019. Zomejs, an insolvent wholesaler of telecommunications equipment, was seventh with a tax debt of EUR 7.782 mln.


Himblats chemical goods wholesaler had a debt of EUR 6.999 mln, A Holding metalworking company followed with EUR 6.603 mln in debt, and fuel company East-West Transit was tenth with an outstanding tax debt of EUR 3.502 mln.


The list of Latvia’s biggest tax debtors also includes the two insolvent Liepaja-based metallurgy enterprises Liepajas Metalurgs (EUR 1.969 mln) and KVV Liepajas Metalurgs (EUR 2.086 mln).
